I will make a wild guess that ought to hit the bull's eye or come damned
close,
that a majority of the "No Label" people are babes in the woods about RC
and,
to the extent they are "hip," what they think of as RC is some version of
the
schtick promoted by New American Foundation, that is, by our standards,
"mild". or "soft" RC, or something similar to Mark Satin's philosophy,
which is stealth liberalism, or its counterpart, the so-soft-it-is-liquid
"conservatism" of people like Scott Brown.

Regardless, just maybe No Label may give us some kind of opportunity
to preach the gospel, so to speak.

I have seen the "No Label" thing on the web in the last couple of days.
Mike McKinnon (sp?), a Democratic strategist from Austin, is one of the
proponents. So that has me wondering if these are non-progressive Democrats or
what?

And I hate to break it to them, but "No Label" is itself a label. That
pegged the ole irony meter.

"There is no virtue in compulsory government charity, and there is no
virtue in advocating it. A politician who portrays himself as "caring" and
"sensitive" because he wants to expand the government's charitable programs is
merely saying that he's willing to try to do good with other people's
money. Well, who isn't? And a voter who takes pride in supporting such
programs
is telling us that he'll do good with his own money -- if a gun is held to
his head."--P. J. O'Rourke

Attention :
Anyone here ever watch PBS News ? Big splash today about a brand new group
calling itself " No Labels." The phrase "Radical Centrist" or "Radical
Centrism" was
used at least 2 or 3 times in the TV interview.

Not much info on their site, but they are really new, so I guess there
will be more
in the days ahead.

The interview mentioned several Congressmen and Senators who are in the RC
camp,
as we might characterize them. This is bipartisan, both Ds and Rs. But the
interview included remarks about Indies.

Could be important.

Discussion might be a good idea so that maybe we can come up with ideas
to deal ourselves in.

MORE THAN 1000 AMERICANS FROM ALL 50 STATES CHECK PRECONDITIONS AT THE
DOOR
More than 1000 people are gathering this morning in New York City at the
founders meeting of _No Labels_ (http://www.nolabels.org/) . Republicans,
Democrats and Independents – from many backgrounds and all 50 states—who are
concerned about the excessive polarization and hyper-partisanship of
American politics, are coming together to ask their leaders to put the labels
aside and do what’s best for America.
We are united by a commitment to encourage our leaders to work together
and develop practical solutions to our nation’s problems. Today is just the
beginning. No Labels will create a space where ideas can be judged on
their merits, not their conformity to pre-fabricated stereotypes. It is the
creation of a new voice—one that has been missing from the current political
system, a counterweight to ideological extremes.
Today’s event will feature citizens, civic leaders, politicians,
academics, business leaders and college students from over 90 different
universities.
The event will be live streaming from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm EST on
