Title: ORourke1 Signature
Abilene Christian-Abilene, TX

There are others down here, but they seem to be Division III (non-scholarship).

Dream conference for religion fanatics

With talk now current ( again ) of a bust up of the Big 12,  Texas /Texas Tech / Okla / Okla State
supposedly headed for the Pac 12, aka Pac 16, there is a rare opportunity for something
needed and long overdue in college sports, a religion sports conference.

After all , what is to become of Texas Christian and Baylor Baptist ?  Plus there is BYU,
currently an orphan and an independent. Moreover, SMU is seeking better things now that
its rebuilding program is well under way.

Here's the plan :

TCU
BYU
SMU
Baylor
Notre Dame

As the nucleus for a religion conference.this would seem to have real potential.
Might add Pacific Lutheran if it builds its football program, and Liberty Baptist
might be another good bet. In the basketball realm there also is Gonzaga ( Catholic ),
Brandeis ( Jewish ), and Valparaiso ( Lutheran ), among others.

Modest suggestion for today
