I would not have identified many of
these high percentage items as "a Government Social Program."
Student loans, well yeah, but a 529? If one is going to include
the 529, then include the 401K or 403(B)-which I see that they
don't (both are retirement investments). Home Mortgage interest
deduction? Heck, I remember the credit card and car payment
interest deductions. I don't count tax deductions as a government
program. IT'S MY MONEY. They should actually quit stealing it. What about the "marriage penalty" which will go back into effect when the Bush Tax Cuts expire? That's government social engineering, too, it's just a negative and not a "benefit." And putting Social Security in there when you also pay into it is kind of strange, in my opinion.
