Title: "Free speech is meant to protect unpopular speech
Many sites have things set up where you have to register your user name and choose a password for that site. That password and user name work ONLY on that site. That's what they are looking for.

Hotair.com has registration, but they only open it up every so often. I was one of the originals when the site first came online. Protein Wisdom likewise has a user name and password that you have to register for and maintain. Some places let you sign-on through Facebook or Twitter.

Simply entering your e-mail address and your AOL password won't get you anywhere. They don't have the ability to verify you with AOL.

You probably have to register at Townhall.com for that site only. If you have registered there before, you probably have a password with them, and there is probably a place for a "forgot my password" link and you give them your e-mail address and they will send you a new one or perhaps send you the one you originally had.

Registered for the site previously ?  Huh ?

Today it was Town Hall. Went to the site for the first time, I think,
unless I visited several years ago. Saw something interesting and
wanted to send a comment. Could not Log In
even though the information I provided was exactly correct.

But I cannot Log In to J Post either, for their "premium" service,
which doesn't cost anything but you've gotta log in.

This has happened again and again.

Registered for the site ?

What is that ?

You registered for the site previously, of course?

Anyone have a suggestion ?

This has been a problem for me since 2004.
My solution has simply been to ignore all sites that require "Log In" to comment.

This is the problem :

I fill in the required information
with CORRECT :

*********
( correct password )

Yet 90+% of the time ALL sites send a message :

INCORRECT  USER NAME  and/or PASSWORD

Usually I can forget about a site and OK that is that.

But sometimes this is very annoying and means no contact even though
it might be really worthwhile.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
Billy
