The informed vs the ignorant
the well-intentioned vs the self-centered
the open-minded vs the closed-minded
those concerned about the future and those who only care about immediate  
gratification
the moderately-partisan vs the hyper-partisan.
 
Doubtless still other helpful-to-think-about contrasts.
 
But, yeah, a good way to think about politics.
