What if you woke up tomorrow and everything that was once considered
morally wrong
was acceptable, and everything that was once considered good could land you
in prison?
Would you know that the world had turned topsy-turvy, or would that just be
the way it is?
In this week’s Philosophy Walk we take a closer look at a question raised
centuries ago
that has since been known as the Euthyphro Dilemma

this provides an excellent model for what can be done.

However, the question is what is Really Important. Who says that
philosophy
isn't relevant ? This could not possibly be more relevant.
.
There are other examples of what this is all about besides what has
happened
with public opinion about homosexuality in the past 40 years or so. Why has
it been possible for black underclass anti-culture to become popular at
the expense of black artform culture ? How was feminism able to
morph into a caricature of what it was prior to about 1974 ?
And so forth.
.
But let us limit the discussion to homosexuality. It is obvious that
today's
"right" in many, many circles in the US, is very close to 180 degrees the
opposite of rightness as just about universally understood until
roughly the 1980s.
.
How do we explain this sea change in opinion ?
Actually that is the easy part. No real problem in listing the causes :
.
Mobilization of millions of psychopaths (homosexuals) politically.
Extreme squeamishness on the part of Christians and Jews to deal with the
issue.
Timidity of the psychological profession to organize politically.
Emphasis by Evangelicals and Catholics on the abortion issue as their one
social issue.
An ignorant and stupid political leadership that puts money ahead of ever
ything else.
Businesses that do not want to deal with anything except business
regardless of social costs.
A mass media incapable of critical thought , that plays to crowds.
.
This is just to get started.
Here is the kicker :
.
It does not matter if public opinion goes even 99% in one direction.
It really does not --unless the public is right.
It all hinges on rightness.
.
Unless you are a herd animal, like a lemming, but we can set that aside.
.
A fact beyond dispute :
NO serious research-based arguments critical of homosexuality or critical
of tolerance of homosexuality have been allowed in the public domain, NONE.
.
This being the case --and please don't insult my intelligence by saying
that there have been, since there have not, I do not count Falwell's
fulminations
as serious arguments , or Robertson's, etc-- how can anyone have
any certainty at all that the public has not been misled in extremis ?
.
That is the whole point. The only way that homosexuals could have had
the successes they have had is for censorship to have prevailed.
Easy enough for them to do : Dominance of Hollywood, huge
piles of money to use, star power to use ( including pro-homosexual
Ronald Reagan ), and ultimately political clout.
.
But no seriously critical arguments --foundational, scientific-- have
even been heard or debated. Sorry to break the news but
you cannot win anything unless you win the argument.
.
There is no way in hell that homosexuals can win any argument
with what I have to say. No way in hell.
.
Who was it who said : One man with the truth is a majority ?
.
Here is another quote, by Confucius :
It is easier to believe a lie told a thousand times than the truth told
once.

Your choice, lemmings or truth --and the prospects of onehelluva fight
if the truth breaks into the public domain.
.
Most people are very reluctant to fight for much of anything.
Too bad , you could miss out on just about everything.
There are many things at stake of which homosexuality
is just a symptom, the worst symptom to be sure,
but only one of a number of others.

Don't say I didn't try to warn you.
