Billy,

I have noticed that a lot of people have switched to gmail (Google). I have
a gmail.com account that I rarely use, but I have found it to be technically
good. It is free. I am stopping short of endorsing it because I don't
think it meets all of your criteria.

Subject: [RC] Question about e-mail providers

Does anyone know of a site that allows you to look into the

e-mail services of various ISPs ? "Various" means

several different providers.

So far, all I have found are sites supported by a individual companies

that you need to sign up for first, and only then do you find out

what their e-mail service is like.

AOL has done it again. Ever since the new CEO took over

--while he has made the company more profitable by turning

its services into NASCAR billboards wherever you turn--

the e-mail service has gotten worse and worse.

I recently returned to 9.0 Security Edition thinking that

the downgrade --with my own disc program to use-- would,

in fact, be exactly the 9.0 SE setup I had used for a number

of years and very much liked and depended on. And so it

was for several days. Then --presto-- AOL went berserk.

As you can ( presumably ) see, the AOL e-mail format

is now approximately 2 inches wider than previously,

not only for current e-mails, but apparently for all e-mails

--including thousands that were formatted for the original system

and now look like hell when they are opened.

AOL is run by insane people .

I really want to get out . This is terrible,

BTW, it isn't just me. Stumbled across a site

with nearly 1000 identical complaints.

AOL's response ?

"We're working on rolling out the great new experience."

These people are brain-damaged idiots.

Anyway, I need an e-mail provider that I can depend on

that will NOT change its e-mail format EVER.

But I am not about to sign up and then discover that

the new system is not what I really wanted.

Isn't there some site where you can compare a number of

different ISP ( e-mail ) providers ?

Am looking for features that matter to me, especially

image editing for e-mail photos. The other stuff, such as

Protocol support

Authentication support

SSL and TLS support

are absolutely meaningless and far from

being "selling points" tell me that such ISPS are

for geeks only and not for me.

Thanks for any recommendations you can provide

Billy
