At this time the reds and the whites will rule wrongly. How obviously true. Clearly the Left and Right serve America poorly and no matter who rules, Democrats or Republicans, what they do is wrong for us, if not always, far more often than not. But this corrupt system will be overturned by the "whirlwind," the coming rise of Radical Centrism. 53 Alas, how we will see a great nation sorely troubled and the holy law in utter ruin. Christianity (governed) throughout by other laws, when a new source of gold and silver is discovered. Could anything be more true ? America's Christian heritage, or Judeo-Christian heritage, is in retreat wherever you look and in some places -like the East Coast and the West Coast- the forces of anti-religious secularism have already triumphed. Even the laws of the land, because of an activist judiciary, have been compromised and sometimes overturned. But then a new source of "gold and silver" will be discovered. Radical Centrists are a "new sect of philosophers" who live for high ideals, not material wealth. They would face death, if need be, to further their Cause. But they are not to be found in Germany, as another quatrain makes clear, they have arisen in America. ---------------- Century VIII 58 A kingdom divided by two quarreling brothers to take the arms and the name of Britain. The Anglican title will be advised to watch out, surprised by night ( the other is ), led to the French air. The two brothers who dispute each other are Democrats and Republicans. The quatrain was written long before the British were to create what became the United States, so in this prophecy "Britain" sands for something "British" that would arise in the future. The "Anglican title" refers to government, which should be fearful of major changes that will be inspired by the French. This obviously refers to Saint-Simonianism, the precursor to Radical Centrism. The rise of RC will be a complete surprise to the established powers that currently rule America. ------------ Century X 66 The chief of London through the realm of America, The Isle of Scotland will be tried by frost: King and Reb will face an Antichrist so false, That he will place them in the conflict all together. Here is the culmination of modern political history with both Right and Left vexed by an Antichrist, a false messiah, now in power in America, an incompetent ruler identified in other quatrains as "from Asia," part "Arab" -that is, with Muslim background even though for most people this is denied because of their fervid beliefs that do not allow an honest evaluation of this moral monster's evil. There is no island of Scotland, of course, the reference is to Nova Scotia, which could only mean, from the vantage of the time Nostradamus lived, Canada. That is, the Left-wing nihilistic social laws of Canada tell Americans what the Antichrist intends for the United States, the complete overthrow of their heritage and the subversion of their cherished values. 90 A hundred times will the inhuman tyrant die, In his place put one learned and mild, The entire Senate will be under his hand, He will be vexed by a rash scoundrel. The reign of the Antichrist will end. The reference to his "death" is metaphorical, but he will be humiliated, disgraced, made an object lesson for the world as embodying evil -all the while proclaiming that he has been doing the good. This fraud will be exposed for what he is and the tyrant will suffer the living equivalent of death, complete rejection by America for his indefensible values. Hence the "hundred deaths," perpetual humiliations as he lives to see all of his evil acts condemned, all evil policy decisions thrown out, and all laws enacted under his inspiration repudiated and replaced. Then will come a Radical Centrist ruler who will have the virtues that all good people deserve in a democracy. The Senate will be co-operative and the Congress as a whole will seek his successes in remaking America what it was intended to be from the beginning, a Radical Centrist republic. Still, the new ruler will always need to be on his guard because there will always be some scoundrel who cannot understand the good, or who simply is a criminal who can see no higher purpose than selfishness and avarice.
