Not well thought out, but there is an insight here that could be
explored to good effect.

Hello, political Junkies!

I just dropped my first blog entry in the blog section of this _forum_
(http://defendingthetruth.com/#) earlier today. But I do want to introduce
myself. My name is Hank. My blog is the 'Radical Centrist.' It can also be
found at _www.radicalcentristblog.com_ (http://www.radicalcentristblog.com/) .

Over a decade ago, I found myself engrossed reading and studying the
speeches and writings of Abraham Lincoln. What drew me in was not only his
eloquence, but also his depth of knowledge, meaning and wisdom. And as I read,
and pondered, and read and pondered, I began to assimilate in my mind and
completely different view of what America is designed to be, than I had grown
to know. Lincoln clarified for me exactly, or very near so, what the
American founders had in mind as they stood in line to sign the Declaration of
Independence. And when I went back and performed much the same research he
had, I discovered that Lincoln was _write_ (http://defendingthetruth.com/#)
in virtually every assertion he would make regarding the American
founding, a subject about which he spoke and wrote prolifically. Lincoln's
ascendency to the presidency rode his understanding of the true meaning of the
Declaration, and of America, and he never wavered from acting along the lines
the Founders had in mind as he made decisions consistent with the Founders'
vision for their nation. That is what we all should do.

A few years ago, I felt the need to self-publish a book detailing all that
I had learned. I just had to write it down and save it for whomever might
ever be interested enough to research it. And now I know even so much more.
And by virtue of this format somewhat new to me, blogging, I have decided
to tell the story that I have learned concerning the meaning and
significance of the efforts of the American Founding Fathers, and yes, how
that
meaning has been bastardized by powers in high places, and individuals who
believe that it is in their best self-interest that the truth be other than it
really is. So this effort of mine also has a heartfelt motivation behind it.
And that is to set the record straight and to clarify for people who are
interested enough to find and read, perhaps even study, what I write, the
true and profound meaning of America. I believe that it is vital that this
story be told, and understood, so that Americans can fulfill the exalted
vision of the American Founders, each who pledged their lives, fortunes and
sacred honor to provide all future Americans a nation truly blessed by God,
and one that is designed to _perform_ (http://defendingthetruth.com/#) God's
will on earth.

In this first series, I examine a question, the answer of which is
misunderstood by the overwhelming majority of Americans. It's not their fault.
It
is just what they have been taught. It concerns the relationship between
America and God. The title of the series is, "Is America A Christian Nation?"
My goal is to establish the answer to that question using the authority of
not only the Declaration of Independence, but also the Constitution and
the laws. So I expect this series might be right up the alley for certain
folks who frequent this site.

For lack of a better term, I call myself a 'centrist.' And I do so because
I try not to decide _national_ (http://defendingthetruth.com/#) political
decisions based upon my own personal likes and dislikes. I try to vote
along the lines of the national candidate who most conforms in my mind to the
vision of the Founders. If it was good enough for them, it is good enough
for me. And because my feelings are so strong in this sort of 'centristic'
manner of thinking, I have chosen the term, "Radical Centrist" as the title
for my blog.

So I welcome anyone and everyone, from any location along the political
spectrum, to read along, and to contemplate for themselves the meaning behind
the information I place before them. I am always open to questions and I
will gladly back up anything I write. So if you have any questions or
comments, please do not be shy. But do be nice! I would like to get to know
the
folks here and I look forward to some healthy discussions.

-Hank
