Saqib Qureshi is a divergent strategist who looks at things a little
differently. He writes intellectual and thought provoking articles on
Re-constructing Strategy, which are centered around his Core Philosophy:

little more conceptual flexibility wouldn’t hurt.”

all over the world, written for The Financial Times, consulted for McKinsey

You know your personal, organisational or country strategy is probably up
the wall if….
    1. … the people who crafted it are different from those who have to
implement it – those who have developed the strategy need also to lead the
strategic implementation so that they have the insights to manage strategy
when it’s confronted with the inevitable perceived or actual change in
reality
    2. … it was based on an objective, fact-based analysis – objectivity
is always subjective and the facts are always dependent on a theory, or at
least some kind of sub-theoretical framework
    3. … it ignores the role of cognition of both current reality as-is
and the future desired vision or target – how we see things fundamentally
drives what we do, which means that trying to understand how we see things is
really quite important
    4. … you don’t even know what strategy is. In the academic
literature, there are several contradictory uses of the term while in the
business
world, practitioners seem to use the term to describe an almost endless range
of issues, many of which are adjuncts for important or big picture
    5. … if you can’t recognise that your self-identity profoundly
influences your strategy – without properly knowing who you are, it’s
difficult
to meaningfully work out where you are or you where want to get to
