Well, it is always a question of degree. The markets were never perfect, but 
even now they still provide a rough estimate of future viability in many cases 
( though "most" may be debatable). 
I actually think the bigger ( and underlying) problem is catastrophic success: 
the market did such a good job of incentivizing productivity and consumption 
that it grew beyond its domain of relevance. We no longer have the problems the 
market was created to solve; we have problems caused by the market itself 
(rather the worldview behind it). 

I'm predicting capitalism as we know it will start to be noticeably disrupted 
by 2024. But if the WSJ is noticing, then maybe earlier...
