Inspiration from India

Who says the political process can't evolve in positive ways? India is a
country that has been plagued by corruption, from the lowest levels of
government to the highest. One year ago, a nascent anti-corruption movement
gave birth to a new political party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which translates
to the Common Man Party. The broom is the party's election symbol.

In Delhi state elections last week, the good government types hoped that the
party might steal a handful of parliament seats. Instead, the AAP shocked the
country by winning 28 of 70 seats in the state assembly (more than one of the
established national parties and nearly as many as the other). The Economic
Times (of India) reported, "Their campaign caught popular imagination in a
manner that shocked Delhi's political grandees."

Wouldn't something like that be cool in the U.S.?
