And yes, it does feel like the American church may be getting its "Bonhoeffer" 
moment.

The best book I've read as a blueprint for a gospel-centered engagement of the 
culture is "The Truest Thing About You".

Profound theology, but not so much scholarly it is a deeply personal and 
immensely practical articulation of the gospel form the perspective of an
