This is ridiculous. Can someone here who is in the computer business kindly pass the word along? Algorithms that do not distinguish between pro and con views are worthless and counter-productive. Some days I may do a lot of web searching looking for information about homosexual psychopathology. As everyone in the Universe knows, I take a dim view of same sex goings-on and regard homosexuality as a mental illness. Therefore, what ? I'll tell you what: I get bombarded with ads for homosexual spas or solicitations to support same sex (travesty of) marriage. Lately I did some research into Islam. As everyone in the Universe also knows, I regard Islam as the work of the Devil and as Satanic EVIL. Therefore ? I will also tell you what: Now I am asked to donate to Muslim charities. In the past I have researched the Democratic Party, which I detest. Therefore, within 48 hours there are ads telling me to help Hillary. I have researched the Republican Party which I also detest. Therefore, within a day or two, sure enough, there are ads that ask me to listen to Rush Limbaugh or to subscribe to some conservative rag. And on it goes, subject after subject. Now and then, yes, I also research subjects that I am in favor of. Hybrid cars seem like a good idea, for instance. But I cannot possibly afford such a vehicle.Yet the next day, on cue, there will be at least one ad seeking to sell me a new automobile. Do ALL algorithm programmers have their heads up their a****s or only 90% of them? My humble opinion BR
