Why was the Obama administration a no-show at Paris while leaders from around the world went there in person to make their feelings known? This is a fact, only the US ambassador to France, Jane D. Hartley, attended the massive demonstration of about 3 million people. But to answer the question, there really is no mystery. Obama was a no-show because: He regards Islam as essentially "good," a belief he acquired from his mother, herself a follower of Subud, an Indonesian semi-Sufi sect, which takes that view and does so in complete disregard of the historical record of the centuries of criminality intrinsic to Islam from the outset. Obama's African biological brother is a Muslim and Barack identifies with Islam even if he is more-or-less a professed Christian. Actually, as Jermiah (his preferred spelling) Wright has said, BHO knew far more about Islam when he started attending his "church" (for want of a better word) than about Christianity. And, indeed, Obama's public statements about the Bible tell us clearly that he remains basically in the dark about much of anything relevant to authentic Christian faith. He is ignorant, doesn't think it is important to become informed, and carries on in his pro-Islam beliefs. Hence reality does not register, the reality that Islam is, as Sam Harris has put it, the "mother lode of bad ideas." Islam is a criminal religion from start to finish, concealed only superficially by a veneer of spirituality. But it is this veneer that justifies the values of the Left in defense of anti-Semitic Islam (it is in the Koran, very clearly and unmistakably) and in strident opposition to Judaism and Christianity. Hence Obama speaks to the beliefs of Leftists and true-believer Democrats, who worship him as a sort of new messiah, when what he actually is, is the moral equivalent of a goddamned traitor. That is why Obama did not show solidarity with the French. Billy
