Image and Story -A New Philosophy of Radical Centrism

Introductory comments

Now the secret can be told. My latest project is complete.
It is called: Image and Story -A New Philosophy
of Radical Centrism. All that remains is final proof reading
and some "touch up" in a few places. This will be sent
as if it consisted of issues of an e-mail magazine,
each installment under the title [ RC ] Image and Story,
and a designation to indicate the sequence of parts,
#1, #2, # 3, and so forth. With luck the entire project
will be sent out in a matter of hours, as each part
is finalized.

Note: A good number of visuals have been used in creating
Image and Story. As much as possible these are public domain
pictures or photographs, or expired copyright images. With only
a few exceptions all visuals that are not identified in the "Credits"
section are in this category. The exceptions consist of images
for which source information was misplaced along the way,
which ought to be understandable given how many visuals
have been made use of. As soon as I can re-identify the sources
of these images that information will be added to the Credits.

For images that may be proprietary, if there are any objections to
their use, they will either be replaced or, hopefully, some kind of
agreement worked out so that they can remain.

There are two major sections to this project, first a picture essay
which is scholarly in nature. The images in that case can be thought of as
the equivalent of quotations. The second section is part scholarly and
part parody. And parody, as I understand the law, allows an artist
or writer to use images for satire or entertainment, unencumbered,
presuming that there is no intent to earn profits in the process. In the
case of scholarship which has educational value, quotes, whether verbal
or visual, are also unencumbered as long as this is not-for-profit
and no attempt is made to use more than an appropriate minimum.
In the work you are about to see, very few visuals come from
the same sources, most are 'one-offs,' a single example
from one source.

You may agree that Image and Story breaks altogether new ground
in the development of a Radical Centrist philosophy.
