To echo your signoff Billy… “enough”. I am growing numb. Ernie’s earlier, “wake me up when it is all over” is starting to resonate with me. It is hard for me to take my eyes off of all that is going on, but so much is going to radically change in the near term, I am starting to detach from the 24x7 news cycle. Ostrich-like relief.

There are plenty of party hacks in the GOP. I have had run-ins with such people repeatedly over the years and, to say the least, they do not impress me in any way. They are dead from the neck up. However, this year the Democrats have walked away with every prize you can think of in this dubious category. One example remains especially clear in my mind, another Fox show that included Chris Wallace and other heavy hitters. How it was that this particular young woman Democratic Party operative was selected as a guest I do not know, but the objective of the panel was to try and objectively forecast how the election would turn out. And everyone on the show did their best; they may have sometimes been wrong, but they were analytic. Not this sweet young thing, her idea of "analysis" was to regurgitate Hillary campaign talking-points verbatim. Her remarks, in other words, were a joke, she was completely out of her depth, a farce, nothing anyone could take seriously. That was election eve. This has been the pattern since the election as well. Analysis from Democrats, such as it is, has been pathetic, utterly non-objective, and ideology driven. I still think that the Democratic Party is the Evil Party and the Republican Party is the Stupid Party, but it seems advisable to amend this characterization and say that the Democratic Party not only is evil, it is nearly as stupid as the Republican Party and it may even be worse this year. If it is any comfort, I think I should also amend my characterization of the GOP, it not only is stupid, it is hopelessly naive about nearly everything that matters, starting with economics. For the record, I voted Write-In for Mc Mullin for president, voted for the two Constitution Party candidates for statewide office who were on the Oregon ballot, for three candidates who were self-identified as Independents, and cast a write-in vote for a sometimes participant RC.org, Barry Sommers, for a local office, think it was county judge or something along those lines. Also wrote in my good friend "Evangeline" -her actual name, that is- for another local office. I could not bring myself to vote for even one Democrat or Republican. I've had it with the system.
