False Memory Syndrome and Christine Blasey Ford
Centroids: The following news story from the New York Post could well destroy the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford and have many other consequences for her, for Palo Alto University where she is a professor, and for the #MeToo movement and the Democratic Party. Needless to say, it could also not only exonerate Judge Brett Kavanaugh, it could elevate him to hero status in American politics and provide Republicans with a huge boost for the November elections. All of the supporter of Christine Ford would look like dupes, and this includes many senators in the Democratic Party. It could also elevate Lindsey Graham to hero status of his own after his unequivocal and forceful defense of' Brett Kavanaugh in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on September 27. There is a major qualification to make at this time: The New York Post story by Joe Tacopino dated September 28 is, at this time, only a sketch and it is not -or not yet- confirmed. But apparently there were two assailants who did pretty much what Christine ford said they did, but that she conflated with Mr Kavanaugh and his friend. See the Post story, as much as currently exists, following these remarks. In other words, Kavanaugh was NOT involved, exactly as he testified before the Senate. That is, and Ford should have known that this might be a serious problem, it looks very much like she was susceptible to false memory syndrome, specifically to the phenomenon known as "confabulation" in which separate memories are combined into one memory, facts switched around to suit the predilections of the person with this mental problem. As a clinical psychologist, Dr Ford should have known to be wary of exactly this sort of thing and taken precautions against it. That she did not do so calls into question her professional competence and, in the bargain, the hysteria now in full bloom in the #MeToo movement. What is being said here depends upon the veracity of the NY Post story, presuming this is not some sort of hack job on the Post or some other "fake news." In any case, there is a plethora of evidence to the effect, even without this news story from the NY Post, that is highly suggestive that Christina Ford suffers from "false memory syndrome." My view is that this took place because Ford is a political activist and an emotion-driven advocate of Democratic Party political causes. About what you would expect from someone who has donated money to Bernie Sanders and other Democratic Party causes, and who has participated in at least two street demonstrations organized by Leftist feminists against Donald Trump. In other words, her comment to the Senate, and to Diane Feinstein, that she was speaking out because it was her civic duty as a politically unaffiliated citizen with no political axe to grind was a blatant lie. Yes, I have documentation for everything I am saying here, and a lot more that, so far, I have yet to write about. Billy Rojas ================================================ NY Post September 27, 2018 Two men have come forward to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to claim that they are the ones who actually assaulted Christine Blasey Ford<https://nypost.com/2018/09/16/brett-kavanaughs-accuser-comes-out-of-the-shadows/> during a house party in 1982 — and not Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Republicans on the committee released a timeline of events late Wednesday, which included details about their interactions with the two men who admitted to the attacks. On Monday, the timeline recounts GOP staff members interviewing “a man who believes he, not Judge Kavanaugh, had the encounter with Dr. Ford in 1982.” The “encounter” refers to an episode in which Ford claims that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in a bedroom at a Maryland house party. They had a follow-up interview with that man, and he provided more detail about the assault. Then on Wednesday, the committee staff said they spoke with a second man who said he assaulted Ford in 1982. The committee did not release any more details about the men, or why both were coming forward with the claims. -- -- Centroids: The Center of the Radical Centrist Community <[email protected]> Google Group: http://groups.google.com/group/RadicalCentrism Radical Centrism website and blog: http://RadicalCentrism.org --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Centroids: The Center of the Radical Centrist Community" group.
