Subject: New York County ARES net tonight + some announcements
To: Josh Gaffin <[email protected]>

Hi everyone -

Just a reminder that we will be running our weekly training net tonight at
20:30/8:30PM. Usual place: *W2ABC/BEARS *(http://www.w2abc.org) repeater
- 147.27 MHz PL: 141.3.

*Chris/N3XZX* will be the NCS.

*Announcements:*

We received the following from *Adam/NY2K*:

At this point I would like to take the opportunity to express my sincere
thanx. It has been an honor and absolute privilege to work with each of you
during the past few years. From events, to hurricanes, to "Superstorms",
you have all made me proud to be a member of the NYC District ARES family.

However, at this point I find a need to step aside and vacate my position
as District Emergency Coordinator.

I would like to thank my staff, your ECs, Francisco, Jojo, Josh, Jeff and
David. You are all amazing leaders and have done extremely well training
our members. Your leadership skills are second to none.

I thank each and every single ARES member in this District. Without you,
there would be no ARES; no ability to serve our community and our client.
There would have been nobody to help the American Red Cross of Greater New
York in the aftermath of "Superstorm Sandy"; there would have been nobody
to help the various "a-thons" throughout the District, keeping the
participants safe. This is the legacy you have left and a testament to your
dedication.

Hopefully I leave behind a ship in better condition than when I found it; a
true communications team.
