You can use squeezeboxservers "bitrate limiting" feature it's in the audio setting for each player, it will load the server a bit as transcoding to mp3 is taking place and you need to have lame installed.
Bitrate limiting provide two things. 1. lower transfer rate alac is already transcoded to flac wich is aprox 800kb/s on 16b/44.1 kHz material using even the highest setting of 320kbs mp3 is doing a lot of good here. 2. The radios internal buffer will last proportionally longer. The radio is probably good (i have a boom btw) but i doubt that you hear any sound-quality loss if using bitrate limiting. This feature is there to solve exactly this kind of problems. -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- No it can NOT be controlled with iTunes.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71064 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
