After I wrote, I re-read your original post and substituted "sleep" for
"snooze" when going through it yet again. It made a lot more sense so I
thought perhaps that's what you wanted to say.

In that case, I agree that it should be as simple a procedure as
possible to turn off (or even extend) sleep. While I don't yet have a
Radio it's definitely on my short-list and short-term to-buy items.

If the default setup for Snooze and Sleep aren't suitable, as
mentioned, I really hope they can be tweaked with a plugin, patch or
app. I'd like to be able to set a preference for the default sleep
duration and also be able to extend it incrementally. For example, 10
minute default with a 10-minute unit extension. So if I want 1 hour I
can click sleep 6 times. I can see pressing the central knob being a
convenient way to activate sleep and turning off sleep can be as simple
as pressing the Power button.

In this case (talking abut sleep and the unit effectively being "on")
your point about a backlight also seems a lot more reasonable. At $200
SRP it should have been something quite easy to factor into the design.

With regards to the remote, I don't need an additional one either and
I'm all for trying to cut back on waste, it's just that the price point
is indicative of a solution where you don't have to purchase additional
accessories. Without the remote and battery this really would have been
better positioned at $149. I suppose they can drop it to that price in
the spring after the holiday shopping season and first round of
manufacturing. Maybe they're using a super expensive driver that's
keeping the price high. But I've had an inside peek at how a number of
other Logitech business units price out their products and margins, so
I'm inclined to believe there was some wiggle room here. Since I'm an
enthusiast, I'll pick one up at $200 anyway. At $149 I might have been
inclined to pick up two.
