With todays new regulations they really had no choice. This is the
future of battery packs if a company is going to sell the same pack
world wide. This is also not a case of recharging AA NiMetal batteries
in an external charger and then repeatedly removing and installing them.
This battery pack is installed and recharged in the SB Radio so
precautions and requirements must be meant. A proprietary pack meets the
requirements to install and repeatedly recharge inside the unit.
