Where payment is involved they often tie the internet to a device. So lets say you login (to their payment site) with your laptop then the connection is only good for the laptop. I travel for work sometimes with my significant other. We were in a hotel which charged for wired internet connectivity for each laptop. They knew which was connected (presumably using the mac address) and didn't allow us to use the same login on a different laptop.
You may have similar issues with the radio. If the wifi just has standard wifi only password it should work with mysqueezebox.com. You may or may not get it to work to connect to your home server. Sharing the connection is probably easier if they require some form of weblogin (though I couldn't get it to work with two laptops even). Or, often free wired connections are supplied. This may be easier to use on the radio, as they probably won't have a web login on a wired connection. The other option I have used is SqueezePlay running on the laptop. Given that you need to run the laptop in any case to get the radio going... Was able to play music from my home server (and off mysb.com ) from the hotel. -- lrossouw Louis 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/lrossouw) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ lrossouw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3416 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73156 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
