PuTTY gives you a terminal session on a different machine, not your
WinXP computer. What computer/device are you logging in to with PuTTY?
You should be able to tell by the computer name or IP address you use to
login. Are you possibly ssh'ing into the Radio, and just copying the
files from one place to another on the Radio?

After ssh'ing into the computer/device you can see what your current
directory is with the 'pwd' command (print working directory). See if
your .bmp files are there.

As an alternative to PuTTY + scp you might want to try WinSCP. It is a
graphical user interface with 2 panels, one for the remote computer you
are logging into, and the other for your local (WinXP) computer.
