I use the headphone out to a low-end audiophile system (Rotel, Cambridge Audio, Axion speakers). The sound quality is perfectly acceptable. But, you do need to adjust the volume level since the headphone out is not a true aux out. This can be a hassle as different streams have different volume levels.
