Hi: new here and TIA for any help here. Also, thanks to all that seem to be part of developing this product line and its abilities.
We got a SBB at Christmas in anticipation of the local NPR station going online, since the mountains block us getting it over air. We liked it enough to get a SBR during the Best buy New Years sale pricing. Great sound and the local station just went online this last weekend. Both are wireless to the broadband modem-router (carries phone and TV cable, too). I have some programming background but dont intend to monkey with it as we say around our house. Also, I dont really care why something doesnt do something (you cant please everyone); Im more interested in understanding WHAT things do and I will live with them. Ive been reading the forums, so Ive done some research and I think Ive got the lingo down, too. Ill just review the basics of what I think I figured out and what I cant seem to figure out. Guidance and explanations would be welcomed. Ive got a few issues, Ill post each in a separate topic, for easier responding. The setting for the SBR screen display is Off = Off. I dont need a clock, there is one right above it on the wall. Make it black. Two or three times a day, I will look into that dark room and see the backlight is on. I know about holding the power button for a full power down but prefer to use standby mode, of course. I read there are some issues with reconnectivity. I checked the signal strength and it was in the mid-40. I moved the router and now its more like >70. The little indicator icon often shows fully lit. Ive read that there are software and firmware betas and updates and known bugs and wish lists.
