I posted about this issue and was advised to check my settings. I have a wall clock and don't need the SB Radio to display anything when not playing. So, Stopped = off and powered off (standby mode) = off. When Playing, it shows Now Playing.
During the day I will walk past that room and notice the backlight has kicked in. I narrowed it down to this scenario: While Now Playing graphic is showing, hit the power button. Backlight doesn't come back on. While playing, go to Home menu. Hit the power button. Count to 6 or so. Backlight kicks in. While playing, go to Home menu, then one submenu deep. Hit the power button. Backlight doesn't come back on.
