Aslak3, this sounds like just the thing I have been looking for. I've reached the point where I MUST wear reading glasses to see even the bolder print. My SB radio is being used as a bedside radio and alarm clock so I currently have to put on my glasses each time I want to change stations, etc. I'm an insomniac and spend many nights channel surfing so this is not a small issue to me. I am not comfortable fiddling around with things that I don't understand---and I definitely don't understand techie things!---so I will just have to wait and hope that SB follows your lead and offers this option.
