Press the number keys multiple times to get the other letters. For example, to get "N" press the 6 key _twice_, with only a short pause between presses. To get "C" press the 2 key 3 times. It's the way cell phones have worked for a long time.
If you use Squeezebox Server (not mysb.com) you may also want to install the LazySearch plugin. With LazySearch you only press a number key once for each letter, and it figures out what the possible combinations are.
