The knob in navigation is quite quick, it has a "accelerometer" type feature, the faster you spin it the faster it goes through your items. Ex: if you use individual *clicks* on the knob then a complete one turn cycle of the knob will advance through only 24 items. But, spinning the knob quicker, I can get to item 477 in less than 4.5 spins. I don't use Podcasts much, but my experience is that you cannot FFW through the Podcast, FFW only skips to the next Podcast.
