I noticed that my MP3 files seemed to play fine too, but the AAC playback was inconsistent--some would play, some wouldn't. It's definitely an issue with 7.5.0r8661. I haven't had problems with other 7.5 releases up until this point, and like you, I was able to get rid of the problem by going back to an earlier release. I then installed the latest 7.5 release--hoping it would force a download of newer firmware--but it just updated to 7.5.0r8661 again.
