I'll take a look at using OtherPlayers on the Radio as well.

However, there's something strange with how the Radio works in this
regard. If, as I described in my previous post, I choose a Classic
player under "Choose player" on the Radio, and then hit the hardware
power button on the Radio, two things happen:

1. The display on the Radio goes into the "Off" screen, and the Classic
player shuts off. This means that I cannot turn off the Classic, and
then regain control of the Radio. Hitting the power button again turns
on the Classic again, and the display on the Radio lights up again, at
which point I can choose to control the Radio again. But, I repeat: I
cannot turn off the Classic using this method and then go back to
controlling the Radio.

2. The Radio keeps on playing, but only for a while! It keeps on
playing for perhaps 30 seconds. I imagine it empties its buffer, but
then it goes silent. However, the server seems to think that something
is still playing, because when I turn off the Classic using the above
method, the Classic shuts off, and the Radio keeps playing for 30s
before going silent. If I then wait a couple of minutes before turning
on the Classic again (through the Radio), both players resume playing,
but not where they stopped playing, but some minutes further on (or in
the next song in the playlist). In other words, the server is not aware
that no player has been playing music while they were both silent.

Both issues above seem like bugs to me: number 1 a problem with
usability, and number 2 as clearly weird behavior. Do other people see
the same thing?
