All internet radios I know of connect to some directory server in order to look up the available stations and their URLs. The only difference is that they access that server anonymously, without the need to create an account, so you don't normally notice it. But if that server goes down I'm sure they will run into problems, too.
The big advantage of the Squeezebox system is that unlike other internet radios you -can- still run it from a local server, even if mysqueezebox.com happens to be unreachable. -- usch ------------------------------------------------------------------------ usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76875 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
