I've had the Radio since Christmas (it's actually in my son bedroom, he did not have any audio system at all, so I figured it was good idea to setup a Squeezebox Radio to access all our music - which I had painfully converted :-) - plus Internet Radio).
And so far, I am extremely disappointed. There are some very basic issues which prevent a reliable usage of the device. Nothing a technical guy can't resolve, but don't expect that from a 10 years old kid. Issues I have: - Wifi keep dropping, especially after a long 'off' period (ie overnight). There is no way to guarantee Wifi will be operational when turning on the Radio, and when it does not work I have to unplug/plug the Radio to get it back - and note it did happen prior to the latest firmware release - There is one radio which my son is very fond of, and access to it is competely random (it's RFM, in France). Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not not. And I know it works, since I have other sources accessing it (an MCE PC to be more precise), and I never have any issue. Shoutcast radios do not seem affected As a result, since the alarm is set up to ring with the latest playlist, if I turn off the Radio with RFM radio playlist on, there is a very good chance that when the alarm rings, it tries to connect to RFM, and get stuck. Hence... no alarm. Inconvenient to say the least. The only case a 'failsafe' alarm comes up is when there is no wifi. Sometimes the box gets stuck into a particular library mode (looks like it's occuring after playing back a music stored on my squeezbox server), and I have to manually reconnect to the mysqueezebox.com (so much for seamless swtiching), and the shorcut button do not work anymore in that case (ie for me, even when connected to my squeezebox library, the shortcut button should be able to access directly my preset Internet radios). Well sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. So all in all, nice concept, nice box, nice sound, but SW is really buggy from where I stand. I will switch to CPL to avoid the wifi connectivity issues.
