I expereinced the same issue with some stations. In my opinion, there is a 'bug' with SBS that a station that is found via a search is not 'save-able' as favourite. If you could find your station back via 'Genre' or 'Country' etc. you might have more luck.
I chose to save all my favourites on mysqueezebox.com. Centralized and not lost when reinstalling SBS.
