Mostly the other way around there is more problems *not* using a server
.

Btw a squeezebox is alway using a server the squeezenetwork provided by
logitech is just another remote server you can use if you don't have
your own.

It's less flexible and remote, but you can manage without your local
server.

If you have a lot of local files and/or a multiple player setup you end
up running a dedicated server anyway imho .
