Mark them as favorites, then you don't have to worry about whether they
get dropped from the list.  The problem with that, however, is that
when the URL changes (as they often do in the world of internet radio)
you know it only when   the favorite fails.  The advantage of using the
radio menus is that URLs are (sometimes) kept current.

In my experience internet radio is seldom reliable.  The lack of
reliability can be for any of a thousand reasons, from server crashes
to human error, loss of internet connection to random system
maintenance.  The biggest problem, though, is that internet radio feeds
are a very low priority for broadcast FM stations.  Virtually all of
them make their money from local advertising.  Do you think a radio
station in New York really cares whether someone in southern California
can get their feed?  If it breaks it breaks, and it'll be fixed when
they get around to it.
