Theoretically, I think it can stream without a server, the problem is just that you won't be able to change what's playing with the current firmware without a server.
If you don't want to rely on mysqueezebox.com and don't want a computer powered on, I suggest that you either get a Sheevaplug (and install Squeezeplug software) or get a Vortexbox Appliance, both these solutions are quiet and have low power consumption. Another alternative, if you are mostly going to use internet radio, is that you get a Squeezebox Touch to use as a server. However, a Touch won't let you use server side third party plugins only third party applets. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80322 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
