But with the Boom, I believe you're tethered to your power cord. The radio has provisions for an optional rechargeable battery (it may take several months for you to get that though--and depending on where you're located, you may not even get the battery at all) If I didn't care for portability and planned on always having power nearby, I'd go with the Boom.
