I also get this problem. I've noticed it happening after a period of play, the radio goes silent but is still playing in other rooms, and the radios screen claims it is playing. The weird thing is the radio still makes the navigation sound when going through the menus.
Unsyncing and resyncing often fixes the problem, as does turning the radio to standby and then on again.
