A lot of hotels, even with unsecured networks, will still require you
to first reach a webbrowser page and tell it something (like room #,
etc.) before actually getting an outside internet connection. The
problem is that your squeezeradio can't easily deal with this step.
I've read of folks using their laptop to get to the internet (enter
info, etc.) and then connect the SB player to the laptop, with the
laptop providing an IP address, etc. This is all too complicated for
most folks. Just use your smartphone, connect to many of the music
apps, and you're good to go (I find many hotels now have clockradios
with ipod/iphone or at least AUX connections with cable). Heck, just
use your laptop and the web as a player.

SB Players really weren't meant to be moved around in hotel, starbucks,
etc. type networks. They can, but require stuff to make it work. Seems
like if I really wanted to do this, I'd get some sort of mini-router
that I could connect to the hotel internet access, then connect my SB
player to the router. But why bother, when I can get the same outcome
with my iphone or my laptop.
