It works for me. I tested with the Radio interface. Chose folder in music folder by clicking the big wheel. Played MP3 by clicking the big wheel.
It worked with the folder "Test a" and it worked with the folder "Test æ". SBS 7.6.0 - r31441. Radio 7.6.0-r9155.
