To answer :

1. use a unique SSID name (name of your network/router)

My SSID is unique

2. if using a G WiFi: set WiFi to G only (turns off a & b modes)
3. if using an N WiFi: set to G Compatibility mode (if using G
devices)

The box I'm currently using is locked by my ISP, so shamelessly I can't
manage these modes (actually : B and G). But this is an interresting
clue.
So do you say disabling the WiFI B will improve the coverage?

4. change the broadcast channel to the least used channel near you

It"s OK (channel 3. The nearest are channel 1 and 6)

5. choose only channels 1 or 6 or 11 (or 13 if available)

Apparently iwconfig says the SB radio is using channel 3, so no problem
at that side.

6. router and WiFi antenna orientation adjustments can help signal
strength

I'll give a try.

7. keep router away from other electronic devices (cordless phones, ISP
modem, computers)

I've got a cordless phone near it, I'll give a try, thanks. The biggest
problem I think is...my fridge, between my radio and the router!

8. reboot WiFi router every once in a while (once a month is usually
sufficient)
