Ha ha ha. That's it. The simple trick is to try twice... Almost.
The Touch connected OK but after entering the password the Radio appeared to connect but immediately locked up so badly I had to take the battery out to recover it. Once I'd done that it worked. Hopefully I'll not ever have to change anything again.
