I know this is not what you are asking, but wouldn't it be easier to just sell the Radio, and purchase a used SB3. The net cost would likely be almost nothing. Or better yet, think about a TOUCH! Of course, it may be that you get enjoyment from these sort of projects and that's good too.
Reminds me of a guy in my neighborhood in the 1970s that transplanted a small-block Chevy V8 into his Chevy Vega. Possible yes. Cost effective? No, considering his time. A good idea?
