It's not a mystery. Microwave ovens use the same 2.4GHz band as many cordless phones, baby monitors, and yes, wifi. But you're right to be worried about what's coming out of your microwave, because a properly functioning microwave should not be causing that kind of interference, unless the Squeezebox is actually inside the microwave while it's on. I have a Controller that sits 3 inches from our microwave and never gets interference.
