I just kept at it entering the info and doing hard resets and it finally accepted it. Don't know why as I changed nothing. Maybe the processor needed a few hot/cold cycles....who knows. The radio has been on for over 8 hours now and no problems at all. For the last hour I've turned it off and back on many times and all is well.
