I bought the original Logitech pack for a quite different reason: I simply found it very difficult (in Norway) to obtain high quality batteries at a low enough price to justify the extra work of soldering everything together myself. The original battery cost perhaps 10% or 20% more than the best "pirate" pack I could assemble myself, provided I could order all the "pirate" parts in one shipment to save on the shipping costs. Which it turned out, I couldn't.
