Normally my Radio functions as a bedroom radio/alarm clock, but when I throw a party, I put it on the balcony, or in the bathroom, or hallway, or wherever music is needed. If I had to move the PSU too, and crawl around looking for a power outlet, I probably wouldn't have bothered (which is probably why my Boom is staying put in the kitchen), but with the battery installed the Radio can be moved without even interrupting the music. And last weekend, I actually brought the Radio, a jack cable, and my phone to the park for the first time. Something which worked out pretty well. 6+ hours battery life seems to be more than I need (usually). The battery in my Radio doesn't get used every day, or even every week, but it does make the Radio much more versatile. At least for my use.
