Are you using it wired or wireless . Some tricks done for the Touch could be applied to radio.
For example disable wifi drivers and software this takes some time to load. Disable all logging. Static ip adress dhcp negotiation takes time on squeezeboxes ? for some reason. But radios cpu is not powerfull you notice when you have a touch . Local SBS is a difference to, mine never takes as long as 45s to get ready ?
